Frozen Ever After at EPCOT (Walt Disney World)

Based on the popular Disney movies, guests will join Princess Anna, Queen Elsa and that lovable snowman Olaf on an enchanted boat ride through the frozen willow forest to Troll Valley before ending up in the North Mountain.

Frozen Ever After is located in the Norway Pavilion at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT theme park.  Originally opened in 1998, the initial design and theme of this ride was based on Norway’s Viking heritage and was named “Malestrom”.

After smashing box office success with the first “Frozen” movie, Walt Disney World closed the ride in October 2014 and reopened in June 2016 with an entirely new ride experience featuring the story line and characters from the Frozen movies.

The ride story commemorates a celebration of the anniversary when Elsa saved her sister (as shown in the first movie), known as an Official Summer Snow Day for the people of Arendelle.

Before boarding their boat guests pass through a well queue with theming inspired by the movies.  One of the unique queue features Oaken’s Trading Post where guests will find Oaken in a sauna telling them that he likes “warm hugs too”.

The entire ride takes approximately five minutes and features some of the popular songs from the movies including “Let It Go”.   With the exception of a short 28-foot drop, the ride is essentially a mild experience.

You can experience this right now by watching our full, on-ride POV video of Frozen Ever After which was taken in August 2020.

There are no height restrictions for Frozen Ever After and this ride is suitable for all ages.  FastPass+ is offered and highly recommended as wait times will easily exceed 60 minutes on a typical summer day.  If you can’t get a FastPass+, try to visit this experience first thing in the morning when the World Showcase open.
