- Spacious and more tranquil than other Disney resorts
- Large number of pools that are located throughout the resort
What We Did Not Like about Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
There are a few things about the Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside we do not like which include:
- Can be pricey for a “moderate” resort
- Certain buildings can be far from the main pool and the dining facilities
- Rooms with exterior corridors
What We Think Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is Perfect For:
We were very happy with our stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and find that it is perfect for:
- Vacation travelers seeking a high quality Disney experience at a fair price
- Those seeking a more serene on-site hotel experience.
- Families with young “princesses” for the Royal rooms
Our Thoughts
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is a nice that includes a fair amount of on-site amenities. The dining options were considered to be adequate as compared to other on-site resorts and the hotel is very well themed. We think this resort is a fairly good value visiting the Disney World theme parks.
As Florida residents and annual passholders, we try to take advantage of special offers for any on-site Disney hotel. Any time we see an offer around $200 per night for the Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, we typically make the reservation. However, paying over $300 per night to a resort that’s not along the Disney Monorail, Disney Skyliner and does not have extensive amenities / dining options is typically not our preference.
Since typically we drive to Orlando, the Disney’s transportation service to the theme parks as well as Uber / Lyft for off-site restaurants is not a concern. However, without a vehicle guests are not fully able to explore the Orlando area outside of Disney (this of course is by design). Outside transportation service costs can add up if you are looking to visit non-Disney theme parks or off-property restaurants so keep that in mind for your next visit.
