Walt Disney World is known for its magical attractions, thrilling rides, and enchanting experiences. However, it’s not just the entertainment that draws people to this popular destination. The food at Walt Disney World is also a major draw, with a variety of dining options available to suit every taste and budget.
Starting January 9, 2024, guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel will have the option of purchasing the Disney Dining Plan which allows guests to prepay their meals at select food and beverage venues throughout the Walt Disney Word Resort.
From quick service restaurants to fine dining establishments, there is no shortage of delicious food to be found at Walt Disney World.
About the Disney Dining Plan
The Disney Dining Plan is a pre-paid meal plan offered by Walt Disney World Resort that temporarily closed in 2020 but will not reopen for hotel guests as of January 9, 2024. Guests who purchase the plan will enjoy a variety of dining options at select restaurants throughout the resort, including quick-service and table-service meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages.
The plan is available in different tiers, allowing guests to choose the level of dining they prefer. The Disney Dining Plan can be a convenient way to budget for meals during a Disney vacation and can offer some savings compared to paying for meals individually. These plans are a popular option for guests who want to simplify their dining experience at Walt Disney World.
It’s important to note that not all restaurants at Walt Disney World accept Disney Dining Plans, so it’s important to check ahead of time and make reservations if necessary. Additionally, gratuity is not included in the dining plans, so guests should be prepared to pay for tips out of pocket.
Overall, Disney Dining Plans can be a great way to simplify and save money on dining at Walt Disney World. Guests should carefully consider their dining habits and preferences to determine which plan is best for them.

Is the Disney Dining Plan Worth It?
Whether the Disney Dining Plan is worth it for you depends on your personal preferences and dining habits. The plan can be a convenient way to budget for meals during your Disney vacation and can offer some savings compared to paying for meals individually.
It’s important to consider factors such as the cost of the plan, the types of restaurants you plan to visit, and the amount of food you typically consume. Ultimately, it’s up to each guest to weigh the pros and cons and decide if the Disney Dining Plan is worth it for their individual needs.
